WISEGUY'S TESTIMONIAL:
Hi, my name is Wiseguy and I live here at the Washoe Valley Ranch. Though at only 33 inches tall, I may be the smallest guy around, I've met some great friends. On sure, the cow ponies think I'm too little to rope and the jumping horses tell me they soar over fences much higher than me. And when my owner and I are carting around the ranch, the old Percheron watches us and tells me he used to pull a cart so big I could ride in the back of it! Even the barrel-racer who shares my barn likes to joke that with my short legs, he could finish the entire course before I'd make it around the first barrel. Yes, I live with some really great horses here, but it's really the people that make this a great place to be. Whether it's my owner taking me out for a romp in the paddock or whether it's someone coming in to feed me and clean my stall or just stopping by to visit, there's always a kind word or a pat on my head. Yes, it's the people here who make me feel special and, despite my diminutive size, they always make me feel 16 hands tall!
JANICE SMITH'S TESTIMONIAL:
I've been boarding at the Washoe Valley Ranch for over 2-1/2 years and I couldn't be more pleased. The amenities available are great and always well maintained. Reasonable rates, on-site shot clinics, trailer parking and easy access to Washoe Lake are bonuses to boarding here. But it is the owner, manager and staff that make this place a five-star facility to my way of thinking. I have found them to be knowledgeable and professional, but of greater importance is that they combine that with a true affection for the animals and with a pleasant and friendly demeanor with the owners. They are always willing to accommodate as best they can any specials needs that might arise. When I was ill and couldn't make it out to the barn for a few weeks last winter, they made sure my gelding got some turn-out time. It is the great care they give my horse and the personal attention they give me that has earned my trust and continued stay here, as well as my highest recommendation that this truly is a great place to board.
Hi Helen,
Just a note to compliment you and Mr Johnson regarding "Washoe Valley Ranch" livestock and horse facility. Aside from the beautiful view of the Sierra Mountains and Washoe Lake the accessibility features of the facility including great indoor and outdoor arenas, lots of room and plenty of parking are outstanding. Every time I visit I am impressed with how the arenas are always watered and groomed. The fact that the horse pens and parking areas are cleared of manure every day is a reflection of a first class operation. Last but not least, everyone I greet is always pleasant and polite which adds to the quality of the experience.
My regards,
Dick Lair
Washoe Valley Ranch is a great place for any horse enthusiast. There is not another facility in the area that offers outstanding footing, gorgeous trails with access to Washoe Lake, and the quality and wide range of services that they offer here. Not to mention the staff is friendly and willing to help at the drop of a hat! I have personally kept my horses at the ranch and ridden here on a regular basis and wouldn't trust anyone else to give the level of care they provide. Thank you for providing such a great facility!

Washoe Valley Ranch is a great home for my horse Annie. She has a sheltered stall with a paddock that gives her ample room to move around. She is exposed to lots of ranch activity which has helped a lot to de-sensitize her. Because of the convenience of the large, lighted indoor arena I ride my horse almost every day- rain, snow or darkness of night. There are many events at Washoe Valley Ranch and Washoe Lake Park to entertain you and your horse whatever your skill level may be. I never get bored exploring Big and Little (2 lakes) Washoe Lakes. There is also easy access to many interesting mountain trails. The ranch staff is always friendly and accommodating. This is very important to me for the enjoyment of my horse.

It's my pleasure to write out my experiences at the Washoe Valley Ranch. It's a great friendly place.
First: You always are there, working! And, you will always take a few minutes chat with me and answer my questions. If a horse has a problem in the middle of the night you're there. You shop for, and arrange, vet clinics twice a year at the Ranch. Having the vet come out saves me the time and expense of traveling to the vet with my horse for a "wellness check". My horse is healthy, well fed and safe under your supervision.
Next: The riding there is outstanding. I think riding along the beach at Washoe Lake State Park is spectacular. There's the covered, enclosed arena which is lit for riding at night after work.
Finally: The team roping clinics on Tuesday Nights are really fun. It's entertainment for my horse, a challenge for the rider. I never imagined actually roping a steer until I got there!
